The Club

Featherby Karate Club has been established now since September 2011 and opened up as a fresh new club for beginners of all ages.

We are always looking for new members, as well as teaching karate at a disciplined level we instil confidence and determination in all our students, which is carried with them into their every day lives at school and into their future careers.

The KSKC sets extremely high standards from our Chief Instructor Sensei Glen Wright. This ensures the tradition of our Martial Art remains true, meaning your child gets the very best tuition out there.

The club offers traditional Shotokan Karate involving Kata, Combinations and Freestyle (Kumite) with annual events such as courses, extra training, gradings and competitions.

Sensei Liam Grindley’s Qualifications

• 2nd Dan Black belt in Shotokan Karate
• 10 Years Shotokan Karate and Self Defence experience
• Qualified Instructor with KSKC
• 5 Years teaching experience children 4+
• 13 A-C grades at GCSE
• 3 A Levels at BTEC Nation Diploma in Uniform Public Services
• Fire Fighter + Fire Safety Trained
• First Aid Qualified

Personal Information

I am engaged and work as a Passenger Service Agent for the Docklands Light Railway in London.

Teaching Karate and Working with such a variety of people from all ages and walks of life gives me excellent communication skills and because of this my contribution to diversity and equality is among the highest standards.
