Sensei Kaye Williams, 3rd Dan

Chatham| Rainham| West Malling

Sensei Kaye Williams was first introduced to the martial arts world back in the 1970's, at the age of 11, first starting judo training in Catford and in Orpington, reaching orange belt and receiving a Bronze medal in the S.E England Championships.

Kaye started Karate in the late 70's under the tuition of Sensei Jon Alexander and Sensei Graham Tyrell in Catford South London reaching her 6th kyu in Zen Shin Ru. Kaye then left Karate at the age of 17 after starting work.

It was then in 1995 when my own children started karate under the tuition of Sensei Glen Wight that I became very interested and wanted to return to Martial arts. I have never looked back and now enjoy a very enjoyable and healthy lifestyle. I train four nights per week under the tuition of Sensei Glen Wright 6th Dan, and run my own clubs three nights per week. I first started teaching at Brown belt level in 1999 at Lordswood and Hempstead dojos.

I became a qualified instructor with the EKGB and the KSKC in 2001. Since November 2004, I have been in full time employment with Karateka Martial arts, running after school clubs for children aged 4 to 11years and teach at secondary schools, teaching year 11 pupil?s self-defence.

I achieved my 1st Dan in 2002 and was awarded a community sports leader award in the same year. I entered the KSKC Kata and Freestyle competition in 2002 achieving 1st place in kumite. In 2004, it was time for me to go further with my karate career; this was when I opened up my first clubs. In November 2004, we see the opening of Kings hill and Fairview clubs and in February 2005, St Mary?s island was opened.

I also received my 2nd Dan in February 2005. I was also awarded KSKC Instructor of the year award in 2006. All three clubs are now very established, offering every student the choice to receive quality professional tuition.

Kaye was awarded 3rd Dan in 2010
