Sensei Glen Wright, 6th Dan

Sensei Glen Wright has been involved in all areas of sport, sports pshchology, self defence training, teaching motivational skills for the past 35 years. In order to gain my present grade 6th Dan Black Belt in shotokan karate, I have had to work extremly hard not only in the fitness side of sport but in focusing and control of the mind and body, I trained with the British team captain and Professor Enoeda for a period of time in my ealier years which give me the inital drive to succeed where possibly others have failed and spent the last 30 years sharing experiences and achievements with others in the hope that i could pass on 'The way' to those who have not been as fortunate as myself.

Sensei Arthur Wallace, 6th Dan

Arthur Wallace is the Chief Instructor of the SKC. He started training in karate in 1968 at the Rochdale Karate Club under Mike Toze 7th Dan KUGB and gained his kyu grades under Enoeda Sensei. He moved to Kent in 1971, where he continued his training under Ray Fuller 8th Dan chief instructor of the Thames Karate Clubs. Sensei Wallace was responsible for introducing karate to Sheppey and opened his own Dojo in May 1974. Later that year he was awarded his black belt by Kensuke Enoeda 9th Dan (KUGB’s chief instructor). He achieved his 5th Dan Black Belt, under the Thames Grading Panel in 1993 and was awarded his 6th Dan in July 2004 by the English Karate Governing Board on recommendation from the Kent Shotokan Karate Clubs. He is also a 1st Dan black belt in Judo and adept with Kobudo (weaponry) I.e.. Sai (short swords) and Rokushu-bo (6 ft staff).

Sensei Kaye Williams, 3rd Dan

Sensei Kaye Williams was first introduced to the martial arts world back in the 1970's, at the age of 11, first starting judo training in Catford and in Orpington, reaching orange belt and receiving a Bronze medal in the S.E England Championships.

Kaye started Karate in the late 70's under the tuition of Sensei Jon Alexander and Sensei Graham Tyrell in Catford South London reaching her 6th kyu in Zen Shin Ru. Kaye then left Karate at the age of 17 after starting work.

Sensei Daniel Rose, 4th Dan

Congratualations to Sensei Daniel for passing his 4th grading in 2011.

Sensei Daniel is a qualified school teacher and began his martial arts training in 1986. He earned his junior 1st Dan in 1990, his senior 2nd Dan in 1996 and his 3rd Dan in 2006. Daniel's interest in Karate began after watching 'Karate Kid' and he joined the Kent Shotokan Karate Clubs (KSKC) under Chief Instructor Sensei Glen Wright, 6th Dan. His enthusiasm for Karate survived his late teens, when many students give up, and Daniel founded Silwood Park Shotokan Karate during his time at University. Daniel has also received training in both Aikido and Shotokai Karate.

Sensei Sharon Vulgar, 3rd Dan

Having started my karate career as a child aged 9, I have now been training in the art for over 21 years. I was awarded my 1st Dan Black Belt in 1995 and my latest grade achievement of 3rd Dan was awarded in 2008. With 13 years of certified teaching experience (juniors and adults), and the hindsight of being a junior in the KSKC I have been infused with the passion and drive to succeed and share my experiences with others.
